five things friday: DIY ornament edition

Yesterday I shared the easy ornaments I made for this year's Christmas tree decorations... but here are 5 other excellent contenders for simple and cheap tree dressings:

1. Paper globes. Last year I made these really easy ornaments out of strips of decorative paper and some paper fasteners. They're great because you can do any color scheme you want, and they're very inexpensive - so you don't have to feel bad if you want to change things up the next year...

2. Felt pinecones. Aren't these pretty? Find a tutorial here.

3. Pinecones with bows. Speaking of pinecones, these would be easy and cheap! Just go out and collect some pinecones and add a wire hanger and ribbon bow.

4. Glitter ornaments. There are of course a zillion ways you could do these glitter-covered cardstock ornaments (Martha Stewart has lots of cute templates in this slideshow), but I love these simple leaves with a bead added to the ribbon from A Field Journal (as well as the other DIY ornaments in that post - definitely check them out!).
